GREETINGS FELLOW NOISE JERKS!!!!!
What you are now holding in your grubby hands is the first BE A FREAK RECORDS compilation tape! The purpose of this comp. tape is to introduce you to some of my favorite noise bands who do not have much or any vinyl out. Sure, these are of course not all my favorite noise bands, I have tons more, but these are bands/projects who I have enjoyed the most out of any I have listened to. Many of these bands are also some of my best friends' bands and some of them I am even in (PISSED OFF ORGASM / PILE OF EGGS / GOD DAMN JERKS). There's many bands that I would have liked to put on the comp. but they already have tons of records/tapes and even CD's out, so they really don't need the support of a comp. like this. For example: Bands like MAN IS THE BASTARD, REGURGITATE, CRIPPLE BASTARDS, etc.
Now these are all killer bands that I totally worship and they are also good pals that I correspond with, but they already have lots of vinyl out (with more to come) so I thought I wouldn't put them on here so I could have more room for bands that need more exposure than the above listed bands. Sorry to all bands that I didn't include, I hope you understand. Anyway, for this comp. tape I have selected 21 of my favorite underground grind/noise/joke/shit/goof/toilet rock/industrial/experimental/etc. bands/projects. I have taken their best songs and compiled them into this 90 minute epic journey into total noise destruction. Another reason for this comp. is to give you a small sample of some of the bands/projects that will be appearing on upcoming future BE A FREAK RECORDS vinyl/CD releases. I would like this to be the only BE A FREAK cassette release because I really would like to concentrate totally on doing vinyl and maybe even CD's, but you never know what can happen. This comp. tape is very special to me because it represents the early days of a label that I hope to keep alive for a long time (hopefully forever until I'm dead!) so I really do hope you enjoy the first BE A FREAK RECORDS release.
I'm not making this a limited release so you do have alot of time to get it, but you never can be sure when I might discontinue it so order/trade for it while you can! Well, I guess I've rambled on for too long so I'm gonna split. There's probably a million things I could have said in this but I guess I'll just have to ramble on next time. I really do hope you freaks dig this tape, It's dedicated to all the true fucked up freaks that dwell in this noise scene. You are keeping the true underground alive!!!!!!!

DESCRIPTION:
Pick up any old, xeroxed mailorder list from one of those long gone noisecore tape labels that were around back in the 1990's, and yer sure to find Extreme Hair Stench listed somewhere on there. This German one-man band has been around since 1992, the project of a guy named Andy Kramer who has released dozens of cassettes and CDRs of bizarre and abstract low-fi noise collages through labels like Chaotic Noise, Be A Freak, and Billy Nocera's pre-Razorback label Stupidity Records, among others. I always dug Extreme Hair Stench's weird tapestries of audio scum and grinding electronic noise, and was surprised to see something new from the project pop up recently. This six track CDR on R.O.N.F. blends together harsh noise, experimental sound collage and heavy drone in classic EHS style, opening with a lengthy track of muffled death metal riffing and distant death roars drowning in oceans of reverb, and then moving through swirling waves of laserblast FX, harsh oscillator manipulations, brief samples of eerie female singing (taken from an obscure album from the 60's psych band White Noise), huge roaring infernos of distorted noise and grinding jet-engine drone, throbbing industrial loops, avalanches of murky sonic soup and melted vocal tracks, weird electronic squiggles and tape manipulation, scrambled radio transmissions in all sorts of different languages blended together into a dense dreamlike babble, huge crumbling walls of crunchy low-end, demonic mumbling vocals, brutal blasting junknoise, crushing slabs of Merzbowian noise terror, all of this sometimes rising up in a suffocating tsunami of sound like hearing one hundred different turntables all spinning different records simultaneously. Imagine a dementia-afflicted mix of Stockhausen, Hanatarash, and Negativland to start with, but it gets skuzzier and weirder as you make yer way through this warped soundworld. The disc also has the 1994 demo cassette Nothing To Hear, Nothing To See And Nothing To Say included as the last track; the disc comes in a jewel case with full color handassembled packaging, numbered out of only 75 copies.

Deche-Charge is a noisecore band from Quebec (Canada) started back in August 1990 as a joke.
Deche-Charge's concept is the most noisecore classical concept: nonsense and stupidity. Originally influenced by Sore Throat's "Disgrace To The Corpse Of Sid" LP (side 1) and the Napalm Death song "You Suffer". The characteristic D-C sound is repetitive 1 second songs in almost all their releases. The early releases had always more and more tracks with song titles, which eventually dissapeared by the time of the 5th demo because there were too many tracks. The sound became more chaotic/harsh by the mid 90's, and by the late 90's/2000's became more like the classic '91-'93 period.
During a couple years in the early to mid 2000's a 'fake' D-C was going around and releasing stuff. It was actually Frank Goshit doing it without Dan or Chain Saw's knowledge. A few of these releases are listed in a discography with a special mention.
The band still records and play shows on a very irregular basis.
Some Deche-Charge side projects are MORBID SHIT, ANAL JACKSON, CLITORIS TRAFFICKER, RETARDED ROOSTER, DAN-CHARGE, CHAIN SAW and countless other shit/noise/retarded projects. Dan-Charge and Frank Goshit used to run the shit/noise label Gocharge Records with a catalogue literally filled with hundreds of tapes by their own projects.
